A job has run successfully for a long time and received the MCH2601 error last night.

It was a simple OPNQRYF followed by CPYFRMQRYF command. No custom programming or APIs were involved.

Any idea what went wrong and how to avoid recurrence of this error?

Thanks

There are PTFs for 6.1 and 7.1 which mention MCH2601 in the case where
the authority list is locked by another job. Is that the situation
here? If not, perhaps there is another PTF that will address this.

http://www-912.ibm.com/a_dir/as4ptf.nsf/9939a36675eadb978625710200584cbd/$searchForm?SearchView

I searched with 'msgmch2601 f/#cfochkr t/QDBCRTFI' in V5R4 PTF Cover
Letters and found a bunch of hits, although IBM Support have a better
search engine in my opinion.
